Hi Cassidy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The entrepreneurial spirit is deeply rooted in my family. From a young age, my father always encouraged us to find solutions to problems and when necessary, create solutions ourselves. The idea behind Kindred Label started during my college years when I often needed a convenient, foldable sandal to switch out of my heels on the go. Noticing the absence of stylish yet functional options in the market, I saw an opportunity to create my own solution..."

"As a student at College of Charleston, Cassidy Caulk would go out wearing stylish heels. Inevitably, before the night was over, her feet would hurt, and she’d want to change into more comfortable flats. So the business major started to design a prototype for a pair of foldable sandals that could easily fit into a handbag. Caulk launched Kindred Label last year with her patented design using elastic hinges and magnets to enable the leather soles to fold in half. The designer recently introduced a new “Catherine” slide and is working on more functional-yet-chic leather goods to add to her collection. Here, Caulk shares her other favorite summer styles...."
